No one can or should eliminate the merit the ATP World Tour No. 7 Nikolay Davydenko had in capturing the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals trophy at The O2 in south-east London. Davydenko defeated at least Juan Martin del Potro 6-3, 6-4, the slayer of Roger Federer and Robin Soderling. "I was [looking at the trophy], until 2008, [there are] so many names there, like Djokovic, Federer, everyone, [Pete] Sampras," said Davydenko, who was simply contesting his fifth straight year-end championship. "In 2009, [it says] Davydenko forever with this trophy. I do believe it's read the article. [In the] history of the [Finals], for my name to be there's something amazing for me." Davidenko had a good run and deserved to win, but del Potro was running on empty and the kick from the young horse from the pampas was not there. Therefore the old saying applies; 'Simple to Beat a Dead Horse!'
