Donald birdied the 18th and parred the 17th on the first two holes of the sudden-death play-off only to see Snedeker match him each time.

Snedeker parred at 18 on the third playoff hole but Donald's par bid from the edge of the green lipped out to end the drama.

Nick O'Hern shot a final round three-under 68 to finish four shots from the leaders in a tie for sixth while fellow Australian Jason Day slipped from contention with a 72 and tied for ninth at seven-under.
